My weight loss journey with weight watchers

My weight loss and weight watchers

Easter was no match for me…

We kept Easter simple this year, since Tyler was spending part of the day with me before leaving to spend a week with his Grandmother.  I didn’t cook a Easter meal so no temptation there and the Easter Bunny only brought Tyler a few pieces of candy, his eggs were filled with money.

I feel good about my progress and am looking forward to a good weigh in tomorrow.

Someone on the WW Newbies Board Posted this…

Hello, do you know me? If you don’t you should. I’m a pound of fat, and I’m the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet. Want to know why? It’s because no one ever wants to lose me; I’m Only One Pound, just a pound. Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds, but never only one, so I just stick around and happily keep you fat. Then I add to myself ever so slyly so that you never seem to notice it, that is until I’ve grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds in weight. Yes, it’s fun being Only One Pound of fat, left to do as I please. So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying “Oh, I only lost one pound.” ( as if that were such a terrible thing!) For you see, if you do this you’ll encourage others to keep me around because they will think I’m not worth losing. And I love being around you – your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you. Happy Days!! After all, I’m Only One Pound of fat!!!

Successful Weigh In

I went to last nights meeting really not expecting even a pound lost so I was very pleased to see the receptionist write down 2.4 pounds this week for a total of 3.4 pounds lost.  Baby steps are very healthy and make me very happy.  I was in such an upbeat mood after weigh in and got a lot more support from my husband this week then I did the last two weeks.  He is very proud of me and so is my son.

Last week I worked on increasing my water consumption, this week I am going to add a multivitamin and work on increasing my dairy intake to 2 to 3 servings per day.  I got a box of smoothie packets at the meeting and plan to start making a smoothy before bed each night for the following morning.  I will add fruit to it which will help me get closer to the 5 a day of fruits and veggies too.

We are going to take pictures this weekend so you can see me now and see less of me later.  That is our meeting leaders ending statement “I hope to see less of you next week.”  Gotta love Mrs. Charlotte, she is an inspiration and such a motivational speaker.

Weigh In (15 minutes from now)

Okay, today is weigh in and eventhough I had a rough weekend I think the first part of this week has been way better.  I did really well today with the water, I drank 60 oz before lunch and have had another 20 or so since.  Only down side is I have to pee constantly.  I feel like I might float away.

So, wish me luck and hope I have 1 or more pounds gone.

Rough Weekend

For some reason, when I can track my points online at weightwatchers.com I do better.  I don’t have internet access on the weekend so I track the points in my head.  I also don’t eat three meals a day on the weekend which makes it harder too.  It doesn’t help that we tried out a new Italian (my favorite foods) restaurant in our area.  But it is Monday and I am back on track.

Coming Soon – Pictures

Be on the lookout for pictures.  I am going to hav emy husband take some before pictures, face, full body and profile to track my progress.  I plan on picking out an outfit that will reflect my size and wear the same outfit each time (until it is just too big) so that i can truly track the changes.

One pound down 94 to go

Weight Watchers says my ideal weight is around 126, so according to them I have 94 pounds to reach my ideal weight, and I have 21 pounds to reach my 10% goal.  Although 126 would be nice, I am being more realistic and setting my personal goal at 140.  I told my mom that this time next year I would be raiding her closet (she is a size 8).

Last night was my weigh in and to be honest I was hoping for more than one pound, but one pound is way better than no pounds, right?!

Eventhough I “only” lost one pound this week, I have noticed some significant changes.  First I have more energy already.  Second, since I have been drinking more water my RLS and back pain is slightly decreased.  Third, since cutting out the soft drinks (except for my daily Coke Zero for the caffiene) I have not really battled with headaches like I thought I would.  Fourth, since adding breakfast (I am not a morning person and don’t like to get up to fix anything before work) I have more energy in the afternoon than I did before.  Fifth, I am really not tempted by foods as much as I thought I would.

My key on eating is the points.  If I realize how many points a particular food will cost me I think twice about eating it.  I don’t want to overdraw my account.  I thought about trying the Core Plan, but I love the accountability of the flex plan.

Weigh In Tonight!

Tonight is my weigh in and I am hoping to show some loss, but even if I don’t, I feel better for starting this and sticking to it.  My husband is predicting three pounds, I am hoping for anywhere between 1 and 5.

In the past week and a half (I unofficially started last Monday) I have increased the amount of fruits and vegetables, decreased the amount of sugar and soda, increased my water intake and increased my fiber intake.  I am even trying to force myself to eat breakfast in the morning.

My next step is to get on a regular exercise schedule.  I plan to start walking, but I am not sure what time of day.  I am not really a morning person, so I don’t see myself getting up early to walk.  Most likely I will be walking at night after dinner.

Since baseball season has started for our  youth league I am going to put my tennis shoes in the van and start walking the parking lot while my son is practicing.  That will force me to exercise at least two days a week (Tuesdays and Saturdays).

Goals

Okay, Weight Watchers wants us to set goals for weight loss, and they used ideal body weight to determine this goal.  My ideal body weight is around 130 pounds, so that is what I have set as my goal.  Here is my motivation.  I want to be able to wear a bathing suit like this and feel confident, not worry that I look like a beached whale.
